NELASA down to 13 affiliated Clubs.

Sporting RI has been disqualified by NELASA for not showing up for scheduled games.
Disciplinary committee found that Sporting failed to comply with the By Laws and were not happy when the league's President Narcisa Araujo allowed the team to continue in the competitions even after the facts. After a schedule meeting the President and the DC came to an agreement and Sporting now joins Safira and Spiga Midju as the teams to be disqualified this season after failing to comply with the league's By Laws article 444.02 and 444.03

Luis Pires wants out as NELASA's Treasurer.

We have seen many NELASA Board Members resigning this season including Ex President Carlos Amado now the League's Treasurer Luis Pires AKA "kiko" is the latest to do so, in a letter sent to the league informing about his resignation as the Treasurer.

" Fellow NELASA Officials & Teams:
I regreattably have to inform you all of my decision to resign as Treasurer of NELASA. This is a difficult decision for me because I am very optimistic of our greeat potential; however our current situation is not conducive to prosperity. I hope that this upcoming General Assembly will allow for the league in general to come together and hopefully get our house in order, and should this be the case I'll recant my resignation and work to fulfill my obligation as the league's treasurer

Week 22 recap-Emigrantes hand Alianca first loss of the season

Emigrantes @ Alianca CV: 1-0
With the game been played mostly in the medfield both teams never got a chance to really control the game. But in the 83rd minute Zico Veiga got a chance and put Emigrantes up1-0 from a very well taken free kick that just got passed Alianca’s goalkeeper Lizandro. This was a very important game for Emigrates to win and now they are just one point back from the first place with 9 games left in the regular season.

Strela Negra vs Tarrafal: 6-2
After suffering the Clubs worst loss of all time in the 2010 Mass. Cup Fianls Vs. Emigrantes (10-0) Strela Negra came back and trashed Tarrafal 6-2. Player of the game Denny Borges score five times he is now the 4th best scorer in the league with 14 goals.

Tabanka Vs. Boston FC: 7-2
Boston FC has allowed 14 goals in two games, week 21, 7-1 loss vs Nos Bandera and now this week they got trashed again by Tabanka 7-2. Bebeto added one more goal to his total, last season MVP Pirochu went on 18 game scoreless streaks but now he has scored 4 goals in 2 games including a hat-trick vs. Boston FC.

F. Terra vs. Mindelo: 4-2
Fidjus Terra went from a top of the table team to a mid-table team in just one year, they can never seem to get a winning streak going. This week they got one of the best performance of they year so far with a 4-2 win over Mindelo, goals from Ima (2) Narcisio and Manu.

Nos Bandera vs Sporting: 3-2
Nos Bandera came from behind to beat Spoting 3-2 at home goals from Taide, Pipito and Brono respectively.

Dinamo vs. C. Grande: 0-0
The referee had to call off the game in the 82nd minute do to some disorder by players and fans.

Juventude picked up 3 points from Safira
Café de Fogo got a bye week.

Aliança CV can breathe easier after Emigrantes loss versus Strela Negra.

With the 2010 season heading for the homestretch every win is important especially if you are Emigrantes whom before the game vs. Strela Negra were one point behind Aliança for the first place in the standings. With a win Emigrantes would’ve taken the first place and put them self in a really good position to win the title, but instead they can find them self 4 points back if Alianca can come up with a win vs. F. Terra this weekend. Emigrantes suffered an embarrassing 4-3 loss in a game witch they were down 2-0 and managed to come back and take a 3-2 lead, goals by Danny (pk) Ernesto and Buck, but they could not hold on as they allowed Strela Negra to score 2 more goals in the second half. The young 17 years old forward Elton Borges score three times in the game for Strela Negra and Djicay had the other goal.
