Week 2 Strela on top of the league for the second Week in a row!



Strela Negra on top of the league for the second Week in a row!

Week 2 of 2010 NELASA had a lot of big match ups where we saw Strela Negra rise to the top of the standings, and Fidjus Terra and Curral Grande sink deeper.

The week started in Boston where Nos Bandera took on Safira FC at Madison Park and come away with a 1-0 nail biter victory. Goal score by ex-Goalkeeper Bruno Brandão in the 6th minute of first half. Both teams had opportunity to score more goals but they just didn’t capitalize, Nos Bandera is perfect so far two out of two with 6 points fifth in the standings, while Safira slipped down to seventh place with 3 points.

At Ceylon Park the new and improved and the leader on the standings Strela Negra hosted Boston FC and come away with their second victory of the 2010 campaign. Strela went up 2-0 early goal score first by Brito then 8 minutes later Rolando add another one. In the second half Boston FC held Strela scoreless an got one goal back from the league’s leader in goal score Toti from the penalty spot, Toti has 4 goals in two games.

In Brockton Dinamo whom despite winning week 1 game 3-0 Vs Alianca CV has forfeit according to Nelasa do to using ineligible players, was in Borckton to take on Mindelo Assoc. and managed to come out with a tie 2-2 even though their two best player didn’t play because of suspensions. Ivan scored two goals for Mindelo he now has two goals in two games.

Spiga Midju again forfeit game two of 2010 season, they still can’t field a team and Tarrafal FC picked up 3 points and the 3rd place in the standings with 6 points.

Aliança CV hosted and beat Curral Grande 2-1 despite been down in the first half 1-0. Curral went up on a goal scored by new comer Denny, but that didn’t hold up as Aliança tied in the second half on a goal scored by ex Café de Fogo, Adilson. Late in the game Curral Grande defender Jair had an unfortunate mistake and scored on his own goal to give Aliança the victory and 2nd place in the standings. Curral Grande is now sitting in 15th place with 0 points so far.

Café De Fogo hosted Tabanka at Pic Park and loss their second game 1-0 goal score by Tito who has scored two goals in two games for his new Club. João de Lele had a chance late in the second half to tie the game from the penalty spot but were denied by goalkeeper Lito.

In R.I Sporting got their first victory of the season Vs Juventude a 2-0, goals scored by African #23 Moly.

Sunday in Brockton Fidjos Terra took on Emigrantes at Pic Park, in a game that was control from minute 1 to minute 90 by Fidjos Terra but, still came out on the losing end. In the 22nd minute of the second half Danny got a break away and scored the games only goal. Fidjos Terra hit the post three times in the course of the games the ball just wouldn’t go in for them. Fidjos Terra has 0 points in two games and they have a very steep mountain to climb to the top. Emigrantes has now 6 points and 4th place in the standings.
